Wonderful Glazed sculptures created last term by our Terrigal students.
A little selection of clay and glazed works created by our awesome students at Gosford during our 3rd Term classes.
A glance behind before looking forward
Next Term our art classes for kids will be focusing on Painting across all of our art school locations, Terrigal, Gosford and Lisarow.
In eager anticipation for the term to come, here is a look at what our students created last Painting block...
Winged Creatures and Dream Catchers
With imaginations engaged and pastels in hand we used blending techniques to enhance a the wings of a Phoenix. Next our end of term works on a mounted wood panel where dreams are shared before being captured.
You can find a few Dream Catcher artworks below, more to come a little later...
Magic pastel crystals
Loved what our young artists created within this block.
During our Kindergarten to Year 2 art classes we explored geometric shapes and the blending of pastel colours. For our senior students the geometric shapes get a little more complex as we experiment using pastels to create transparent effects.
Fruit, Faces and Funky Caricatures
Kids had a blast with these ones!
We looked at the basic shapes behind detail, explored with Pencils and Crayon, whilst playfully created some quirky caricatures.
I really enjoyed making each work created for this Drawing term.
I remember when I was creating works to exhibit, when my primary aim was to be an exhibiting artist. I found it so stressful at times, producing for myself, producing in order to sell... There is nothing wrong with this, in fact if an artist is making a living from there creations that is fantastic! I am merely reflecting on my experience.
When I am creating for someone else (In this case a group of young budding artists), particularly just to make them smile it's a very different experience. Fun, Joyful!
These are the works created. Shown here, for I love to reflect on how our young artists take the idea, run with it and make it there very own. In the next few posts you will see their works.
Through out the School year our young artists create some amazing works of art! It is such a joy to be able to showcase them all together in our Annual Kids Art Exhibition. Its truely an uplifting experience viewing the flood of colour and playful creativity which jumps from the exhibition walls coved floor to ceiling in hundreds of artworks.
5 years ago I set out with the intention to use art practice as a tool to support a child's development, resilience and Self belief. To build Confident Creative Kids - one art work at a time.
He are some Confident, Creative Kids proudly showing the work they achieved along with admiring the works of their young peers.
